Summit on Acute Aortic Diseases: Lux et Veritas

Summit on Acute Aortic DiseasesThe first annual Summit on Acute Aortic Diseases: Lux et Veritas was held at Yale University on November 1-2, 2007. The symposium was dedicated to the late actor, John Ritter, who died of an acute aortic dissection in September 2003. There were over 200 attendees from all over the globe.

A distinguished international faculty comprised of cardiac surgeons, interventional radiologists, internists, emergency physicians, vascular surgeons, vascular biologists, and geneticists reported the latest research findings in the arena of aortic disease.

Denton Cooley, MD, known as the father of modern cardiac surgery, delivered the first presentation. Dr. David Tilson of St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital of New York delivered the keynote lecture on “Aortic Dissection and Creativity: Is There a Link?” John Ritter's widow, Amy Yasbeck, delivered a moving tribute to John's life and the physicians who treat thoracic aortic disease.

The symposium is approved for AMA/PRA Category 1 CME credits. To receive your CME certificate, if you attended the conference, please go to www.promedicacme.com
